Parks & Recreation Committee
Meeting Minutes 02-05-03

the state is making budget cuts. Committee Member Peil asked Chairperson DeVine if it would be acceptable
if she contacted City Administrator Moore-Sykes to discuss the possibility of applying for grants. Committee
Member Peil will pursue this issue.

VIll. FINANCIALS

Committee Member LeBlanc feels there is still some confusion as to what fund is used for what and how
much money is actually available to the Parks & Recreation Committee. Ms. Stephan explained the financial
information provided from the Finance Director, Ellen Paulseth is thorough and complete. The reason
Committee Member LeBlanc shows $108,190 currently available is because he is including the $26,000 in
the Charitable Gambling Fund which was already allocated to renovate the Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park
warming house and is not included as Parks & Recreation funds. It was felt it was a good idea to include
projections of future monies to be able to plan for future expenses

Committee Member LeBlanc added some items in the Parks & Recreation budget that was completed in
September, 2002 under Future Currently Unfunded Items. Committee Member Peterson said that while
these were valid items, he would like to see them included as a separate page, not as part of the committee's
budget as it looks like they were included and decided on by the committee in September, when they were
not. Committee Member LeBlanc said he would change the document to reflect the changes suggested.

Motion was made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee
adjourn the February 5, 2003 Parks and Recreation Meeting at 9:37 p.m.
carried unanimously.

:Member Peterson, to
All in Favor: :Motion

Transcribed by Kim Stephan

60f6
