City Council motioned at the April 28, 2004 City Council Meeting to have Mr. Tschida present Option B to the Board of Water Commissioners at their next meeting, scheduled May 11,2004. Option B would involve the city allowing the pipe which crosses the property to remain, resulting in a revised valuation of$253,900. The committee discussed the financial statement prepared by the Finance Director, as well as reviewing the budget the committee had submitted for projected goals and projects over the next 5 years. There were numerous items the committee was able to remove or modify at this time due to more recent cost information. For instance the paving of Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park parking lot and the cost of the skate park pad have been lowered from the projected amount, the monies needed in the event the DNR Trail Grant is awarded to CenterviIle was lower than budgeted for and there were items the committee would like to apply for grants for instead of budgeting the entire amount. The committee feels strongly that the parcel of property on CenterviIIe Lake should be purchased by the city, using Park Dedication Fees, for park property. Motion was made by Vice-Chairperson LeBlanc, seconded by Chairperson Peterson, to revise the Parks & Recreation Committee Budget as previously presented to City Council to accommodate the purchase of the St. Paul Water Utility Property on Centerville Lake. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
