<br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />Meeting Minutes August 2, 2006 <br /> <br />The following recommendation was made by the Parks & Recreation Committee at the August 2, <br />2006 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member <br />Amundsen to recommend to City Council approving the Centennial Youth Hockey <br />Association's use of dry land time with the use of the park lights at Laurie LaMotte <br />Memorial Park with the above conditions. All in Favor: Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />VII. UPDATES <br /> <br />CommUnity ImDact Grants - Home DeDot (Amundsen) <br /> <br />At the July 18, 2006 committee meeting the members were supplied with information regarding <br />Community Impact Grants given to communities by Home Depot. The committee was interested <br />in pursuing this option for a grant, but a question arose as to the applicants needing to have a tax <br />exempt status. Committee Member Amundsen was to contact Home Depot for more information <br />and Council Member Paar was to ask the City Attorney how this would apply to a City. Council <br />Member Paar was not at the committee meeting with an update from the City Attorney. <br />Committee Member Amundsen placed a call to Home Depot, but had not received a return call at <br />this time. <br /> <br />Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Play Structure <br /> <br />The following recommendation was sent to City Council and approved at the July 26, 2006 City <br />Council meeting. Tedd Peterson, Public Works, will order the mats. Ms. Stephan has contacted <br />Ms. Alysia Huck, International Mulch Company, to process the order for the additional 2 boxes <br />of redwood mulch. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Chairperson Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Amundsen to <br />recommend to City Council the purchase of (5) -I" thick rubber skid prevention mats 6- <br />8' long to be installed under the swings and an additional (2) boxes of shredded rubber <br />mulch to meet fall zone protection requirements for the Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park <br />play structure, not to exceed $2,000. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The quote from International Mulch Company lists the price for (2) - 56 Cubic Foot Boxes of <br />Redwood Chunks at $1,185.41, which would make the total over $2,000 at $2,030.41. <br /> <br />Delivery time is approximately 3 weeks. The driver will contact Public Works. <br /> <br />Sf. Paul Water Utility ProDertv on Centerville Lake <br /> <br />Per Council Member Paar, the demolition of the house on the property will take place in August <br />2006. The process for taking bids has been started. <br /> <br />30f4 <br />
