It was moved before after complaints from the public. The current location was chosen by the Park
Board based upon all of the competing concerns that were known at the time.

Since the Park Board chose the current location, it is not just a simple matter of our staff moving it. It will be
necessary for you to discuss this with the Park Board to see if another location would be acceptable. The next
meeting of the Park Board is August 3,2005, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. Thank you for contacting me, and I hope
you will be able to work something out with the Park Board.

Dallas Larson, Administrator

-----Original Message-----
From: Lisa Abrahamson [mailto:l_abrahamson@msn.com]
Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2005 10:16 PM
To: dlarson@Centervillemn.com
Cc: tpplus5@aol.com; wayneleblanc@unisys.com; kathyQ46@aol.com; skseeley@yahoo.com;
dakotamn@pro-ns.net; mmlaskso@yahoo.com; capria@comcast.net
Subject:

Dear Mr. Larson,
Mary Capra suggested writing you to ask for your assistance in relocating the satellite
(porta-potty) located at Acorn Creek city park. Our home is the only home that
specifically borders the park located at the end of Revoir St. As it so happens, the only
satellite in the park is located approximately 15 yards from our front yard. We would like
to suggest with all the open space in the park there might be a better spot to relocate the
satellite so it doesn't have to border the only house next to the park. A suggestion of
placing it directly north of the playground area has been made, but still very accessible.
That would probably still geographically place it closer to our home than any other that
borders the park.

With the hot weather we have recently been having, just standing in our driveway brings
an odor. It also invariably brings a sarcastic comment from anyone who visits us how it
"must be nice to have a toilet in your yard." It presents an eyesore introduction to the
park as the backdrop to the park sign introducing the park. There is also the safety issue
we currently see where the door opens directly onto the path, so that if someone was
riding their bike or running and the door were opened as they were going by, it would
present a safety issue.

There has been an argument that it needs to be close to the road so the service truck
doesn't have to drive on the grass. We always see the service truck drive up to the

7/21/2005
