We applied for a DNR grant for LCMR grant money to
make this purchase, but were unsuccessful in that request. We currently are
submitting a grant application for Federal Transportation Enhancement grant
money for the purchase of this property.

We are a City bordered by two lakes without any city access to either of
those lakes. The St. Paul Water Utility owns the entire Shoreline of both
Peltier and Centerville Lakes and is currently selling off this property.
The shoreline property would be a great assets to our park system and is
probably our last chance to gain lake property within the City of
Centerville for our residents.

The second issue is our application for a Livable Communities Act grant for
our downtown area. We are a small community represented by your appointment
to Met Council. Being a small community within the Metro we need your help
and assistance more than many of the larger communities with greater staff
available to be lobbyist for support of their projects.

I fully understand the busy schedules we all have in our lives, but I would
like to request an hour of your time to come to Centerville to see the areas
and property mentioned above so you can better understand our needs. We
will accommodate your schedule whether it be during business hours or
evening hours. Please contact myself Mary Capra 651-653-1732 or our City
Administrator Dallas Larson 651-429-3232 to arrange a visit to Centerville.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this request we look forward to
showing you around our community.

Respectfully,

Mary Capra
Mayor - City of Centerville
