<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2001-A <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PARKING REGULATIONS <br />IN THE CITY OF MELROSE <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MELROSE ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY. Minnesota Statutes, Section 169.34 thru Section 169.35, <br />are adopted by reference. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. ANGLE PARKING. The Council shall determine upon which streets <br />angle parking shall be permitted and shall mark or sign such streets, but such angle parking <br />shall not be indicated upon any Federal-aid, State, or County Highways within the City <br />unless the Appropriate Highway Authority has determined that the roadway is of sufficient <br />width to permit angle parking without interference with the free movement of traffic. Upon <br />those streets, which have been signed or marked by the Council for angle parking, no <br />person shall park or stand a vehicle other than at the angle to the curb or edge of the <br />roadway indicated by such signs or markings. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. GENERAL PARKING REGULATIONS. <br />A. Parkina Not To Obstruct Traffic: No person shall park a vehicle upon a street or <br />alley in such a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than <br />ten (10) feet of the width of the roadway for the free movement of vehicular <br />traffic. <br />B. Parkina Spaces: White lines or markings may be painted upon the curb or streets <br />designating the parking spaces. No person shall park a vehicle across any such <br />line or markings, or park a vehicle in such a position that it shall not be entirely <br />within the space designated by such lines or markings. <br />C. No Parkina Zone: Yellow markings may be painted upon the curb or street <br />designating a no parking zone. No person shall park a vehicle within the painted <br />area, except for designated loading and unloading zones. <br />D. Parkina For Phvsicallv Disabled: No vehicle shall park or obstruct access to a <br />parking space designated and reserved for the physically disabled. Such area <br />will be marked with paint, handicap symbot and posted sign reserved for <br />physically disabled persons. Vehicles parked in a space designated and reserved <br />
