<br />CIty of Centervllle <br />2008 Comprehensive Plan Update <br />Proposal <br /> <br />~~ <br />~~ <br />DSU <br /> <br />COST OF SERVICES <br /> <br />Our proposal includes a work program and cost estimate for the project phases, based on our experience <br />and tied to assumptions about the nature and scope of work in each phase. Because of the scale of this <br />project and its dynamic and multi-faceted nature, it is impossible to anticipate all the factors that could <br />affect the scope, timing, and nature of the proposed services. We also recognize you need to establish a <br />clear working understanding regarding costs for the City. We have therefore used our best judgment in <br />projecting the nature and scope of the consultant's involvement We are open to modifying any aspect of <br />this proposal to achieve a better result for the City. We will make every effort to manage costs, and we will <br />undertake only that work that has been discussed and approved by the City. <br /> <br />All work and meetings will be computed on a time-plus-materials basis. Costs for work and materials that <br />may be requested, in addition to the services listed, will be added to the estimated figure. Subsequent <br />additional services, if required, will be authorized in writing based upon a contract addendum. <br /> <br />A breakdown of the estimated cost of services is shown below and a detailed cost estimate is on the <br />following page. <br /> <br />The estimated cost for all services is $26,494 and$2;OOO for expenses. The expenses largely reflect the <br />printing costs associated with numerous copies of materials requested in the RFP for transmittal, as well as <br />materials for use by city staff and officials, Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council throughout the <br />process. These expenses could be reduced depending upon the willingness of the City to reproduce and print <br />documents in-house. <br /> <br />City's Responsibilities <br />The proposed City responsibilities are: <br />· Providing electronic copies where available of the existing plans, ordinances and studies relevant <br />to the planning process. Having this information readily available in an electronic format is an <br />assumption of our cost estimate. <br />. Providing the most up-to-1iate digital parcel or ownership data, as available. <br />. Notification, mailings, and meeting invitations to Task Force members, the Planning Commission, <br />and the City Council. <br /> <br />Measures to Contain Cost <br />DSU/ Bonestroo will work closely with the City to manage costs. Strategies for containing costS will include: <br /> <br />. City staff reproduction of materials for distribution to the Steering Committee, Planning <br />Commission and City Council <br />. The use of teleconferences with City Staff in place of weekly meetings <br />. Internet-based public communication efforts <br />.
