Anoka County Is currently in the process of developing the master plan for funded improvements In the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park Reserve. One of the main components of our plan Is to construct a paved trallway system that will link to vital areas adjacent to the City of Centerville and the City of Uno Lakes. This trallway system will allow the communities to have access to a significant public recreation facility which Includes the Chain of Lakes, Chomonlx Golf Course and the Wargo Nature Center. We expect to begin construction In late 1999. Due to our funding constraints, Anoka County is only able to bring the paved trallway system to the southwest comer of Centervllle's laMotte Park. If the Oty Is able to secure funding to link their local trail connections to the Rice Creek Regional Park Reserve, this will provide direct access for over 3000 persons living In the Immediate vicinity. Many thousands of others from the northern metropolitan area will benefit from the trail connection between the regional park and local community trails.
