As the communication issues caused by the lack of a.staff liaison, sevenil issues <br />may have not been properly addressed by the city staff: committee or council. Ms. <br />DeVine will meet with the city 'admini~trator to discuss these topics in an effort to <br />rectify the situation. These issues include: Retribution Moneys, Engineering Costs, <br />Trail offset in Pheasant Marsh, Washed out trail from Brian Drive to Acorn Creek <br />Park, and the Plat for the "Shores". <br /> <br />ICE RINK OPENING <br />Mr. Petersen updated the committee regarding the ice rink opening. The lack of <br />cold weather has made it difficult to form usable ice. The committee also <br />scheduled the annual "Skate Night" events. We will conduct them Saturday, <br />January 19th, Saturday, February 2nd and Friday, February, 15th in conjunction with <br />Snow Biz. Skate Night events will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Popcorn and hot <br />chocolate will be served. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />RECOGNITION OF FORMER CHAIRPERSON <br />The committee acknowledged the efforts offormer chairman, Mr. Doug Porter. In <br />keeping with tradition, the following motion was made. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Lee, seconded by Ms. Pen, to recommend council honor <br />former Parks and Recreation Committee Chairman, Doug Porter by <br />awarding a plague and city sweatshirt recognizing his efforts. <br /> <br />AU in Favor: Motion earried Unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE VACANCY <br />In an effort to :fill the vacancy on the committee, various methods of obtaining <br />applicants was discussed. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Walter, seconded by Mr. Petersen, to adjourn. <br /> <br />All in Favor: Motion carried Unanimously <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. <br />
