AttendSlTlfs are on duty from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Also, with the Wheels Park being <br />opened, Staff is reporting that there are increased incidents of VR1)dAli-un ami destruction to park <br />equipment.. While Wheels Park was developed for the enjoyment. of skateboard and roller blade <br />enthmria~ and is. a very popular park, vand~l;mt and destruction of park equipment increases the cost of <br />keeping it open. Staff is asking that anyone witnessing this kind of destniction, to please ca1l 9-1-1 or <br />contact City HaD. <br /> <br />HMO (NODOOint .Education for MUllieipal Officials) Presentation. Staff from the Rice Creek <br />Watershed district presented information regarding non-point source pollution to the City Council and the <br />Flannmg and Zoning d~ the monthly Plmming and Zoning Commission .tneeting. Jay Michaels <br />~uSsed the relationship of land use to water quality. He also provided information on what non-point <br />somce pollution is, where it cqmes from and how to control it. They presented various techniques that are <br />used to control storm. water nmoft; spring thaw runoff and ways to reduce impervious surmces while still <br />achieving the goals of a development project. :Mr. Michaels's presentation will contribute to the <br />information that City Staff is working with in their effort to compile an updated City Sur1Bce <br />Management and Stomiwater Plan. The Public Works Director indicated that Phase II of the Sur1Bce <br />Management and Storm. water Plan bas to be in place by December of2003. <br /> <br />City to Update Liquor Ordinanee. <br />The City Council has worked with Staff and liquor establishment owners inupn~ the City's liquor <br />ordinance. Work began in late winter and is clllminAfirlg this month with the review of the proposed <br />updated llquor ordinance. This item will be scheduled for discussion and public input during the two <br />Council meetings in July. It is anticipated that a public hearing will be held sometime in August, with" <br />Council approval of the final draft of the ordinance due sometime after that time. <br /> <br />Constnetion UDdate.
