<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Minutes of joint meeting of City Council with Planning & Zoning <br />April 18, 2007, at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Present were Mayor Capra, Council members Tom Lee, and Linda Broussard. Council <br />member Michelle Lakso arrived at 7:50 p.m. P&Z members present were Brian Hanson, <br />Ben Fehrenbacher, and D. Love. Absent were Council member Jeff Paar, P&Z members <br />Tom Wood, Jennifer Klennert-Hunt, Mark Pangell and Bob Wright. <br /> <br />The purpose of the meeting was to review the proposal of DSU/Bonestroo for updating <br />the comprehensive plan. Phil Carlson of DSU/Bonestroo presented the proposed process <br />and the meeting schedule. The Council expressed concern over the difference in cost <br />between the proposal of DSU/Bonestroo versus the other firms interviewed and asked the <br />planner for input in where cost savings could be made. <br /> <br />Mr. Carlson suggested that two Council/P&Z meetings could be omitted as could one <br />public meeting. He estimated this to save about $3000. If the process is very efficient, <br />additional savings time could be saved, which will result in less cost, as the proposal is <br />time and materials, not to exceed the maximum budget. <br /> <br />The group agreed that a joint meeting would be held in June after the consultant has had a <br />chance to put together the background information report. The consultant will revise his <br />proposal to reflect the discussion this evening and the approval of a contract will be <br />placed before the Council at the next meeting. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Dallas Larson, Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />
