Re.placement of Public Works Vehicles. <br /> <br />city ~dministlator Larson explained that Council authorized a shorter rotation cycle on <br />the Public Works vehicles. He stated that the cost for 0WDing the trucks for one year was <br />about $2,000 per vehicle. He explained that this was too short of a timeftame and <br />decided to look at two years. City ~dministrator Larson commented that the State <br />requires new vehicles to be flexible fuel vehicles. He stated that to trade in the older <br />vehicles, a cost of $6,000 per vehicle would be incurred or $3,000 per year. of ownership <br />per truck. Bonestroo Pro,posal for Planning 2009 Street I11l,pfOvements - 542.000 Budget <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson explained that the Council discussed the 2009 Street <br />Improvements and scenarios on how to involve the public. He suggested bringing the <br />public in for an open house for comments in the fall with the intention of beginning the <br />improvements in 2009. He stated that it is beneficial to give residents the information <br />and early notices before all the decisions are made and finalized. <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar agreed and stated that he desired to stick to the plan because the <br />roads are finally looking good. He commented that he would like to keep up with the <br />required maintenance. <br /> <br />city Administrator Larson explained that a feasibility study would evaluate street <br />maintenance and reconstruction requirements. <br /> <br />city Engineer Statz explained the options for road repair and maintenance.
