CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 25, 2007 <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting on April 25, 2007, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />Mayor Mary Capra <br /> Council Member Tom Lee <br /> Council Member Jeff Paar <br /> Council Member Michelle Lakso <br /> Council Member Linda Broussard-Vickers <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br />None <br /> <br />STAFF: <br />City Administrator Dallas Larson <br /> City Engineer Mark Statz <br /> <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - Local Board of Appeal and Equalization Hearing <br /> <br />Mayor Capra called the April 25, 2007 Anoka County Local Board of Appeal and <br />Equalization Hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Crystal Huss, Appraiser, explained the 2007 assessment is for home values and not <br />taxes. She stated an assessment was done on 44 new homes or 2.8% in 2006. She <br />explained that the State requires that homes be revalued every five years and this is the <br />fifth year. She commented that Centerville had an increase of 5.4% estimated market <br />value. She explained that the State requires that assessments be between 90 and 105% of <br />the market value; Centerville is at 94%. She commented there were 75 home sales <br />reported in 2006. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Broussard, to close <br />the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization Hearing public hearing at 7:00 p.m. <br />All in favor.
