The as-built survey created at completion of the existing home and <br />garage suggests that the buildings are situated approximately 15 feet from the property <br />line on the side of the proposed garage. The City Code requires a setback of 10 in this <br />particular zoning district. Thus there is clearly not enough room to add an additional stall <br />to the attached garage. It seems unlikely that the property could meet the required <br />findings that are necessary to justify a variance. <br /> <br />The best alternative would be for the property owner to request a permit for a detached <br />garage to provide the additional space.
