<br />City Council 2007-06-05, 7:30 p.m. <br />Minutes of Work Session <br /> <br />Present were Mayor Mary Capra, Council members Michelle Lakso, Linda Broussard- <br />Vickers, Tom Lee and Jeff Paar. Present from the Planning and Zoning Commission were <br />Brian Hanson, Jennifer Klennert-Hunt, Ben Fehrenbacher, Mark Pangel, D. Love, and <br />Tom Wood. <br /> <br />Planners Tina Goodroad and Brandon Slotterback of DSU/Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik <br />and Associates were present to review the Comprehensive Plan-background report. <br /> <br />Tina Goodroad discussed the background report that has been prepared as part of the <br />comprehensive planning process. The background report updated statistics, estimates, <br />identified natural resources, parks, and other issues related to the city. <br /> <br />Brandon Slotterback reviewed a map of existing land uses and received feedback on <br />potential errors in the map. <br /> <br />After discussion, the following issues were identified for further study and analysis: <br /> <br /> <br />NATURAL RESOURCES: <br />? <br /> Peltier Lake – aquatic value <br />? <br /> Trail connection to school from the east <br />? <br /> Pedestrian access – over/under (14) <br />? <br /> Creek rerouting (14) <br /> Affect on land use <br />? <br />? <br /> Plan to connect all existing sidewalks <br />? <br /> Pedestrian connects to downtown – interconnects the community <br />? <br /> Remnant parcels from reconnecting of 14 to the city <br />st <br /> Those of economic value – 1 right of refusal – park opportunity <br />? <br /> <br />TRANSPORTATION: <br />?st <br /> <br /> Signals at 21 Avenue <br />? <br /> <br /> Intersection near gas station <br />? <br /> <br /> Discussion with Anoka County Park and Ride lots <br /> <br /> Consolidate with existing church lot <br />? <br />? <br /> <br /> Identify other transit opportunities – downtown, others <br />? <br /> <br /> Identify appropriate future roadways <br /> <br /> Concern over how some are identified <br />? <br /> <br /> South collector <br />? <br /> <br /> North preserved wetlands <br />? <br />? <br /> <br /> Joint opportunities with Lino Lakes <br /> <br />
