Provide transportation choices to the residents of Centerville by encouraging alternatives to the <br />single-occupant vehicle such as caxpooling. bicycling, walking and mass transit. <br /> <br />~DlJP,J/";- <br /> <br />It is the policy of the City of Ceo.terville 1D: <br /> <br />. Develop land use development standards that promote safe and efficient access to <br />the transportation system. <br />· Protect the "small town" atmosphere of the City. <br />. Develop land uses and access spacing guidelines compatible with the <br /> <br />functional classification of the regional highway system. <br /> <br />. Establish a local transportation network which preserves neighborhood <br />identity ffiH. while linkil-ing together neighborhoods, tegetaer .aa te <br />community parks and facilities. <br />. Identify long term transportation corridors to provide access to and within the City as <br />development occurs. <br /> <br />. Identify potential trail corridors for long term linkage to neighborhoods, public <br /> <br />parks and businesses. <br /> <br />. Coordinate transportation planning and system improvements with surrounding <br /> <br />communities as well as Anoka County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />. Work with the Metro Transit to maximize transit opportunities for the <br /> <br />C'()fftftRwrty . <br /> <br />.
