<br />Duties of Mayor. The mayor sba1l preside at meetings of the council and shall
<br />have a vote as a member, except that the council shall choose from its
<br />members a mayor pro tem who sbaU hold office at the pleasure of the council
<br />and shall serve as mayor in case of the mayor's disability or absence. The
<br />mayor shall exercise all powers and perform all duties conferred and imposed
<br />upon the mayor by ordinances of the city and the laws of the state. The mayor
