CENTENNIAL LAKES LITTLE LEAGUE
4175 LOVELL ROAD SUITE 330 LEXINGTON, MN 550/4

August 24, 2007

SO
AUO n fOOT

City of Centerville
Mayor, City Council Members and Park Board
1880 Main Street
Centerville, MN 55038

CENfERVILLE, MN

To the Honorable Mayor Mary Capra, City Council Members,& Park Board:

We are excited to announce that the upcoming 2008 season will be Centennial Lakes Little
League's 50'h anniversary! We will be celebrating 50 years of offering baseball and softball
programs to the youth of our community. Our League, which began in 1958 with only four
baseball teams and has grown into a complete youth baseball/softball program serving over
1,100 children each summer. In addition to offering children the chance to participate in one of
America's most popular pastimes, our programs have provided participants with opportunities to
develop qualities of citizenship through teamwork and discipline, along with a sense of physical
well being. All of these qualities contribute to making our communities a great place to live!

We believe it is important for an organization to recognize its successes and our 50th
anniversary merits such a time to celebrate the success of our collaboration with local
communities. We are forming a committee to coordinate our 50th anniversary celebration
activities and we are aSking the communities we serve to consider making a donation to offset
some of the associated costs. It would be so helpful if the City of Centerville would consider
making a contribution of $1,000.

At this point we envision the activities to include a picnic with fun contests, games and prizes for
the communities' families including a homerun-hitting derby. As we complete the plans for the
celebration, we look forward to sharing more details and extending an invitation to you.

The success we have had over the past 50 years must be shared with the communities we
serve, since it is because of the strong partnerships we have that our success has been
possible. We hope you will join us in our celebration both in person and with a donation. Please
let us know if you are able to help.

Sincerely,

Pat Mahr
President & Board of Directors Centennial Lakes Little League

~
