City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 22, 2007 <br />City Engineer Statz reported that the feasibility report on the Street Construction Project <br />would be finalized soon. He requested that Council schedule an open house for an <br />informal meeting and a more formal public hearing later. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Council reached consensus to set the informal open house for October 4 or 9, 2007 from <br />4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Council directed staff to publish the date, time, and location prior to <br />the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to <br />schedule an open house for the 2009 Street and Utility Improvement Project on <br />October 4 or 9, 2007. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />b.Authorize Soil Boring <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz stated that he walked the streets to ensure the correct soil bores would <br />be accomplished. He stated that two proposals with quotes were submitted. He <br />recommended that Stork Twin City Testing Corporation be selected to conduct the soil <br />boring. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard, seconded by Council Member Paar, to <br />accept the bid for soil boring submitted by Stork Twin City Testing Corporation <br /> <br />pending modifications by the City Attorney and proof of insurance. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Sidewalk Proposals <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson summarized the sidewalk proposals received from contractors. <br />He stated that the cost would be approximately $40,000 to $45,000. He reported this <br />should take care of the sidewalk issues for several years but that annual inspections will be <br />made to identify unsafe conditions. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Broussard, to <br />approve a contract with Andrew Roth Concrete and Masonry for sidewalk repairs <br />not to exceed $45,000 per Public Works recommendation. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />3.Mr. Tom Lee – Reconciliation of the 2007 Parade Budget <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Lee presented the 2007 parade budget to Council.
