City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 8, 2007 <br />Council completed agenda item X. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES at this time and then <br />recessed and reconvened at Hidden Spring Park to complete discussion on this topic. <br /> <br />Council reviewed each of the outstanding issues at Hidden Springs Park. <br />City Engineer Statz explained what has occurred to resolve each outstanding issue. He <br />stated that the contractor worked on the rain garden and it seems to be working. <br /> <br />Council members commented that the rain garden is as dry as they have seen it since the <br />project started. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee expressed concern with the artesian well. He stated that the flow has <br />slowed to little more than a trickle. He commented that he was uncertain if the draught <br />caused the problem and if it would recover. <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard commented that she liked the stone water feature with or <br />without the flowing water. <br /> <br />Council reached consensus to approve the current pay request, as the contractor was <br />receptive to correcting the problems. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to <br />approve payment request number two in the amount of $92,964.86 to Veit <br />Construction. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />X. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />1.City Administrator Larson <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported on the financial report in Council’s packet. He stated <br />staff review of the Code would be held on August 23, 2007. He requested that Council <br />members notify staff about questions or issues they would like looked at. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported that the next joint Council/Planning and Zoning <br />meeting is October 2, 2007. He stated that the primary discussion would cover the Land <br />Use Plan as portion of the Comprehension Plan. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported that the City is considering implementing payroll <br />direct deposit at the beginning of the year. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting Update <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard reported that a new business, Multi Web Converting, would <br />relocate to Centerville.
