City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 13, 2005 <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Lakso to <br />approve the pay request to Maguire Iron in the amount of $33,250. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />15. Urban Development and Redevelopment Conference <br />Council Member Lakso indicated that she would like to attend this conference <br />that is designed to provide information on development and redevelopment. <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Paar to <br />approve $299.00 for the Urban Development and Redevelopment conference. <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br />1. T-Mobile Antenna Lease <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that Staff has resolved the issues involved <br />with their use of the tower and they did agree to pay costs to have the City <br />Engineer review plans and installation up to $2,000. They will also pay to inspect <br />welds and inspect the inside of the tank if they do have to weld and do paint touch <br />ups. <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Lakso to <br />approve the T-Mobile Contract as amended by Staff. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />2. Livable Communities Demonstration Account Development Grant Application <br />For informational purposes. <br />3. TIF Resolution #05-036 <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that this Resolution would not bind the City <br />to move forward. <br />Council Member Council Member Paar indicated he would support TIF for the <br />City property but not for other properties. He then said he thinks this is good for <br />the City but he wants to be clear that those that think they are going to get projects <br />approved that he is not in favor of TIF for any other projects. <br />Council Member Council Member Lee agreed. <br />City Administrator Larson said that when doing redevelopment projects where <br />you have to tear down buildings often times there is a better argument for TIF and <br />Page 7 of 10 <br /> <br />
