<br />upon receipt of all documentation, the CPLPD, and State approval and appropriate certificate of <br />insurances. Councilmember Brenner seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Citizen and Business Person of the Year <br />- <br />Ms. Gaustad updated the Council on the EDC dilemma to select citizen and business person of <br />the year. The issue involves the consideration of themselves as possible recipients and the <br />possibility that they may be omitted from the nomination process. Furthermore, EDC requested <br />the Councils recommendation. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee warned that the award recipient should be considered from everyone <br />who has contributed to the Community at any time in history, not necessarily a committee, <br />commission or council member or the award may not serve its purpose of recognizing an <br />outstanding volunteer. Councilmember Brenner shared that for the reasons stated the Life Time <br />Acheivement Award was created. Mr. March suggested broading the base of voting members, <br />developing new applications, and accepting new nominations. Then electing a recipient in January <br />and awarding the dignitary during a Council meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Buckbee moved to table the business and citizen person of the 1998 year until <br />January 1999 to allow Staff to redevelop the nomination applications and guidelines. <br />Councilmember Brenner seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council and Staff Chairs <br />Mr. March indicated to the Council that Hunt furniture dropped off several model chairs for <br />purchase consideration. Mayor Wilharber commented that City Staff need new chairs since the <br />current chairs are in poor conditioin and may be hazardous. <br /> <br />Mayor Wi1harber moved to approve Staff to choose what color and style of chair they need and <br />then to purchase the required amount of chairs. Councilmember Buckbee seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MayorWilharber moved to order the required number of black chairs for Council. <br />Councilmember Buckbee seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber informed the Council that the Police Department had interviewed for a Police <br />Officer vacancy and they plan to make the final selection after background investigations are <br />completed. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATORS REPORT <br /> <br />Holidav Office Hours <br />Mr. March addressed the Council and requested Friday, after Thanksgiving, as a paid holiday for <br /> <br />3 <br />
