Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS <br /> <br />Request to Waive Variance Fee for ADA request at 1695 Sorel Street (David Kilian) <br />Mr. David Kilian (1695 Sorel Street) requested the Council-to waive a variance fee for the request <br />to make his house handicap accessible. In order to provide Mr. Kilian's wife assistance into their home, <br />their porch will need to be converted into a ramp. The existing porch encroaches in the easement and will <br />require a variance; therefore, Mr. Kilian requested the fee to be waived. Mayor Wilharber alluded that <br />it appears the property owner complies with ordinance #4, section 65.03-1 through 65.0J-4 (variance <br />issuance requirements). <br /> <br />Motion bv Councilmember Travis. seconded by Councilmember Nelson to waive the variance fee. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Request to Purchase Garage at 7024 Centervilte Road <br />The City received a letter from the Thompson family to purchase the garage at 7024 Centerville Road. <br />The Council discussed the request and took the following action: <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Wilharber. seconded by Councilmember Nelson to direct Staff to contact the <br />petitioner and explain the City will advertise bids for all interested parties to voice an interest. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VI. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Lake Area Utility Building Appraisal <br />Mr. Willie Lessard (Lake Area Utility Owner) updated the Council on the purchase agreement. The City <br />Attorney drafted a purchase agreement, the following items have been incorporated in the purchase <br />agreement; depicts the sale amount of $325,000, buyer pay half of the assessments due on a per square <br />foot basis (excluding contiguous parcel), seller caps the well, seller removes the septic, seller connects <br />water and sewer to the building, buyer waives the local water and sewer hook-up <br />charges, seller pays the Met Council SAC Charges. Mr. Lessard requested the selling price be $315,000 <br />and remove all the contingencies. He also requested Council consider condemning the property. <br /> <br />Mr. Hoeft said he spoke with the sellers attorney whom was comfortable selling via the condemnation <br />process. The IRS may look at the transition. They will review the status the property to ensure the <br /> <br />Page 2 of 8 <br />
