<br />Tri-City Police Joint Powers Agreement <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that the Tri-City Police Joint Powers Agreement is close to being <br />agreed upon. He asked that Council, City Attorney, and staff review the agreement <br />before the next Council meeting to see if there are any issues that need to be addressed. <br />He also reported that if this agreement passes and becomes effective in January 2000 two <br />citizens at-large will be needed as commissioners. He stated that an article should be <br />placed in the newsletter asking for applicants for this position in anticipation of the <br />agreement being reached. There will be a councilliasion in addition to the two citizen at <br />large. <br /> <br />Fire Department Relief Association <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber provided information regarding the Fire Department Relief <br />Association's investments. He informed Council that the Fire Steering Committee will <br />be recommending the increase of the firefighters retirement from $3,000 to $3,500 per <br />year. <br /> <br />He also informed Council of the status ofthe Circle Pines Station and that the Open <br />House will be held in the near future. <br /> <br />X. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Appointment of Betsy Scheller and Michelle Moser to the Economic Development <br />Committee. <br />Holiday Party - Council approved the expenditure of$350.00 to pay for staff dinners at <br />DeCoys Restaurant and the approval of a budget not to exceed $500.00 for the Holiday <br />Party/Awards Presentation. <br /> <br />Motion by Council member Travis. seconded by Council member Nelson. to <br />approve the Consent Ae:enda. Motion unanimously approved. <br /> <br />XI. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />XII. ADMINISTRA TORS REPORT <br /> <br />Mr. March requested that Council set a workshop date to discuss the following: <br /> <br />1. Public Works appraisal, new Public Works building and issues that are involved <br />in this such as revising the preliminary budget, and a feasibility report for a <br />possible water extension into the downtown area. <br /> <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />
