Extendine the Term of the Cable Franchise emnted to <br />Media One North Central Communications Corp. Motion ~arried unanimously. <br /> <br />Goetz Landscaping Letter <br />Mr. Goetz submitted a letter informing the Council ofa delay in the ground breaking of <br />their new building. Mr. Goetz is requesting permission to extend his current Certificate of <br />Occupancy Permit until the Middle of October. <br /> <br />Motion by Council member Nelson. seconded by Council member Sweeney to <br />extend the Goetz Landscapine Certificate of Occupancy Permit throueh mid <br />October. Council member Vickers abstained. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Letter to the Editor <br />Mr. March submitted a draft "Letter to the Editor" for review as directed, expressing <br />dissatisfaction and non-factual information printed in the September Hugonian referencing <br />the possible expansion of City Hall. <br /> <br />Motion by Council member Sweeney. seconded by Council member Nelson to <br />submit a "Letter to the Editor" to the Hueonian expressine dissatisfaction with an <br />article printed in the September Hueonian. Motion carried. <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />Letter from Mady Reiter <br />The City Council received a letter addressing the possible merger with the Quad-City <br />Police Department. The Mayor indicated he would like to see the City go forward with <br />this issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Council member Broussard-Vickers. seconded by Council member <br />Sweeney to accept the recommendation by the police commission. with the issue <br />to be addressed aeain in the future. with consideration for an outside feasabilitv <br />study. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Letter from Centennial Community Services <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber read a letter :from the Centennial Community Services, asking for <br />permission from the City to use the Centerville-Centennial Fire Hall as the primary <br />evacuation site for Centerville Elementary School. Mayor Wilharber explained he will <br />turn the letter over to the District Chief, who will in turn take it to the steering Committee. <br /> <br />Resignation of Robert Westerlund <br />Mayor Wilharber informed the Council that Robert Westerlund has submitted his <br />resignation, with his last day stated as October 1, 1999. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
