CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />In Mayor Wilharber's absence, Acting Mayor Dick Travis called the August 11, 1999 City <br />Council meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />II. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Ordinance #5 - Discharge of Firearms <br />Council member Linda Broussard Vickers stated the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />discussed the ordinance at their meeting, however no consensus was reached. <br /> <br />Council member Vickers also indicated the police department would like the City to take <br />a look at this and make modifications. Bow and arrow shooting was a primary issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Council member Vickers. seconded by Council Member Nelson to close <br />the public hearing. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council member Nelson questioned whether the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />could give City Council their consensus after examining the Firearm Ordinances. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council member Vickers to <br />request the Planning and Zoning Commission review the Firearm Ordinance at <br /> <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
