<br />APPROVED <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL PRELIMINARY <br />BUDGET/GOALS WORKSHOP <br />AUGUST 5, 1999 <br />7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of Centerville held a preliminary <br />budget/goal workshop August 5, 1999, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br />Council Member Mari Nelson <br />Council Member Dick Travis <br />Council Member Terry Sweeney <br /> <br />ABSENT: Council Member Linda Broussard Vickers <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator, Jim March <br /> <br />1. Discuss 1999 Goals and Objectives <br /> <br />Council reviewed to Goals and Objectives as set forth in January of 1999. <br /> <br />2. Discuss Tax Rate Goals <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber opened the discussion stating the 2000 tax rate should remain stable. <br /> <br />Council member Nelson also felt the tax rate should stay the same. <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney agreed, although indicated he would be interested in seeing <br />a percentage of funds allocated to Centerville Parks. <br /> <br />Council member Travis stated he would like to see the tax rate decrease. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Discuss Revenue Steam <br />~ General Property Tax <br />~ Building Permits <br />~ Homestead and Agricultural Credit Aid <br />~ Local Government Aid <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
