Wilharber commented the city may be setting a precedence. <br />March mentioned the article stated the application first is review from the Municipality <br />than prioritized from the Rice Creek Watershed District. Brenner suggested setting a limit <br />for reimbursements. Wilharber suggested having the engineers look at the whole project. <br />Randy Mancuso stated he tried to look at this objectively because there is a natural <br />erosion issue, but is the city contributing to the erosion and the saturation of the soil? <br /> <br />MOTION by Brenner seconded by Powers-Rasmussen to have City Staff investigate the <br />matter contact RCWD and send letters to the residents along the creek if necessary. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Citizen and Business person of the year - Wilharber reminded the council and residents of <br />the Citizen and Business person of the year nominations which are currently being <br />accepted. <br /> <br />Letter from Anoka County Commission Margaret Lang/eld - Wilharber read the letter out <br />loud regarding family violence and abuse. Anoka County Sheriff, Larry Podany asked for <br />Municipal support. Wilharber explained the meeting" A Price of Violence", was <br />November 14, at 7:00 P.M. Wilharber planned to attend and hoped other would too. <br /> <br />Laura Powers Rasmussen left at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Holiday Party - Helmbrecht requested $200.00 for the holiday party decorations. <br /> <br />MOTION by Helmbrecht, seconded by Buckbee to approve the $200.00 expenditure and <br />to direct city staff to explain the expenditure of the holiday party in writing. Brenner <br />suggested looking at other smoke free locations in the future. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORT: <br />Wilharber explained at the last Police Commission Meeting Centerville's population was <br />brought up in comparison to the 10 classification. Wilharber mentioned this so the council <br />could be aware. Walt Neumann said one C.S.O. could not cover the area so they may <br />have to hire another. Neumann felt there was two options, first stay with Circle-Lex <br />since they are the best in the area and we would get good time and service. Second, if <br />forced into paying too much the city may consider going on our own. <br /> <br />Brenner reported on EDC, Don Casanova was at the last meeting and said he will be <br />looking for more space within the next two years. Further, Casanova expressed concern <br />about the length of time for police respond to calls. Brenner explained EDC is asking <br />business owners to talk at the meetings to give EDC a better idea of what the needs are. <br />Further, EDC watched a video on the Minnesota Design Team, a group of people go into <br />cities and do updates throughout out the community. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATORS REPORT: <br /> <br />4 <br />
