MEMO

TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members

FROM: Kim Stephan

DATE: January 3, 2008

SUBJECT: Recommendation for PurchaselInstaUation of Dogi-Pot Pet Station

Mr. Paul Palzer presented the committee with a printout and cost of a Dogi-Pot Pet
Station which could be installed at the parks or near trailheads to be used to deposit dog
feces. The committee thought it a really good idea and would like to recommend City
Council direct staff to purchase and install one at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park near the
trail. If this eliminates some of the problems with pet waste, the committee would like to
potentially order more for the other parks.

Motion was made by Committee Member Harris, seconded by Chairperson Seeley
to recommend City Council direct staff to purchase and instaU one Dogi-Pot Pet
Station to be installed near the trailhead at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park with the
cost not to exceed 5300 for product, shipping and installation. AU in favor. Motion
carried unanimously.

4
