~

CIRCLE PINES-LEXINGTON POLICE EXPLORERS

In 1996, we completed our third year as an Explorer post with about fifteen active members.

We sent twelve Explorers and two Advisors to the Annual Minnesota State Explorer Conference held at Breezy
Point Resort. The Explorers did a great job and represented the Department well.

We sent four Explorers and two Advisors down to Flagstaff, Arizona, for the National Explorer Conference.
We had the opportunity to meet Explorers and Law Enforcement Professionals from across the Country. The
training was great and it was an experience that none of us will soon forget.

We again supplemented our own training by interacting with Explorer Posts from Anoka and Hennepin
Counties. This enabled the Explorers to get to know other Explorers and to be trained by many different
instructors. We also got together with the other posts for a lock-in and a ski trip.

In 1997, we hope to send three teams and three Advisors to Breezy Point. In order to help pay for these
conferences, the Explorers have been working hard to raise funds by working at the Viking's games, helping out
at the Burnett Golf Tournament and raising money through a bowling fund raiser.

The Explorers have volunteered many hours helping our Department and the cities that we serve. They have
volunteered their time, working the local parades, bike patrol, A TV patrol, assisting with city functions, ride
alongs, training, etc.

This Post could not continue without the support of the Chief and all the Officers that take the time to help train
and allow the Explorers to ride along with them.

Respectfully submitted,

Explorer Post Advisors
Officer William Michael
Community Service Officer Cindy Elotson

-
