<br />City Council Meeting, February 26, 1997 <br /> <br />12.41 acres of park land offCenterville Road "Laurie LaMotte Park". Navin would like <br />to use the proposed map (EXHIBIT A) as a guideline to develop LaMotte Park. <br /> <br />Next, the Park and Recreation Committee would like to sell the Cedar Street open space. <br />The funds would be used toward developing the LaMotte Park property. Navin felt the <br />new area park would be more useful than the underutilized open space off Cedar Street. <br /> <br />Nyberg felt the dirt moving will cost more than the Cedar Street property is worth. <br />Nyberg suggested having a topographic survey performed on the Cedar Street property <br />this spring. Further, Nyberg could put together a color graph for LaMotte Park at no cost <br />to the city. Helmbrecht asked the staff to find out how the city acquired the Cedar Street <br />property. <br /> <br />MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Brenner to approve Dave Nyberg to make a color <br />graph at no charge to the City. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Brenner to approve the Park and Recreation <br />Committee to use the map concept for Laurie LaMotte Park so P&R can go forward with <br />the park plans. Continuing, to approve a topography and estimate done on Cedar Street. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Surface Water Management Plan- <br />Nyberg explained the Water Comprehensive Plan will be discussed with Jim and Dean <br />Johnson, the updated information will be available for the next meeting. March reported <br />Dean Johnson indicated the Met Council needs a letter stating when the water plan will be <br />done. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES: <br /> <br />Annual Fire Report - Milo Bennett Fire Chief - <br />Bennett planned to discuss the 1996 Centennial Fire District annual report (EXHIBIT B) <br />and the 1998 budget (EXHIBIT C). <br /> <br />Brenner mentioned Dale Larson has retired from station 3. Brenner commented on behalf <br />of the council they would like to acknowledge his years of service. <br /> <br />MOTION by Brenner, seconded by Buckbee to approve the proposed 1998 Centennial <br />Fire District Budget. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Brenner reported the Economic Development Committee met on Tuesday, January 21, <br />and from that meeting Brenner read the following motion; <br /> <br />4 <br />
