<br />City Council Meeting February 12, 1997 <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATOR REPORT: <br /> <br />United Waste <br />March explained a flyer United Waste planned to send out to the residents. The flyer <br />indicated they will be using a brown recycling bag for leaves. Also United Waste has <br />switched to a new appliance pick up day, it will now be Tuesdays instead of Fridays. <br /> <br />Garage Door Opener for Public Works <br />March suggested installing a garage door opener for safety reasons at the public works <br />building. The city received two bids on a 1/3 and 1/2 horse power. <br /> <br />MOTION by Buckbee, seconded by Helmbrecht to authorize city staff to purchase a 1/2 <br />horse powered garage door opener for public works. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />March mentioned the City of Hugo sent the surrounding cities a letter requesting a letter <br />be sent to RCWD to allow the City of Hugo to design a solution for the dam. Council was <br />not in favor of sending a letter to RCWD. <br /> <br />March received a letter from Commissioner Margaret Langfeld requesting the cities allow <br />the county to review all plats contiguous with county roads. Wilharber felt it would be <br />more work for city staff and several agencies already review plats. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />March mentioned Mike Cusick the Cable Commission Administrator is recognizing the <br />Blaine cable representative for her 16 years of service to the cable commission. March <br />suggested Ted Gonsior be recognized for his years of service. Mayor Wilharber thought <br />it was a good idea to recognize Ted and suggested the city staff order a recognition <br />plaque. <br /> <br />MOTION by Helmbrecht, seconded by Buckbee to adjourn the February 12, 1997, <br />council meeting.
