~ City Council Workshop Meeting Minutes of February 4, 1997 CITY OF CENTERVILLE CITY COUNCIL SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN WORKSHOP MEETING OF FEBRUARY 4, 1997 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the city of Centerville held a Surface Water Management Plan workshop meeting on February 4, 1997, at City Hall. Mayor Tom Wilharber called the workshop meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber Sanna Buckbee Theresa Brenner ABSENT: Mary Jo Helmbrecht Laura Powers-Rasmussen STAFF/CONSULTANTS: Jim March David Nyberg Ry-Chel Gaustad SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN: Mr. David Nyberg MSA Consulting Engineers briefed the Council on the City's Surface Water Supply Plan. Nyberg suggested updating the 1996 Surface Water Supply Plan to include the interconnect. Wilharber suggested discussing the available options with the interconnect and set a time line for completion. Buckbee mentioned, with the industrial base outlook, she would like to see the interconnect completed by fall of 1997. Brenner agreed with Buckbee. March suggested having a public informational meeting. Nyberg agreed with March since several of the property owners have large assessments on their properties such as Reel Manufacturing and Carpenter's. Nyberg commented the 1997 Water Supply Plan will be submitted to the Met Council with the interconnection updates. Nyberg asked if the plan should go before the Councilor be discussed with staffbefore submitting to the Met Council. Wilharber suggested prior to the meeting, the City should have an understand the needs and benefit to the property owners. It Wilharber asked the views of the Council. The Council consensus was to discuss the plan with the city Council before submitting to Met Council. Brenner requested the updates be highlighted or
