<br />... <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />JANUARY 8, 1997 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City ofCenterville held a <br />public hearing and a regularly scheduled council meeting on January 8, 1997, at City Hall. <br />Mayor Tom Wilharber called the council meeting to order at 6:00 PM. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> <br />Tom Wilharber <br />Sanna Buckbee <br />Mary Jo Helmbrecht <br /> <br />Theresa Brenner <br />Laura Powers-Rasmussen <br /> <br />STAFF/CONSULTANTS: Jim March Dave Nyberg <br />Dean Johnson Ry-Chel Gaustad <br /> <br />OA TH OF OFFICE: <br />Mayor Tom Wilharber stated the oath of office to serve as Mayor on the Centerville City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Council members Mary Jo Helmbrecht and Theresa Brenner stated the oath of office to <br />serve as Council members on the Centerville City Council. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON CENTERVILLE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br />Dean Johnson of Resource Strategies presented the history of the Comprehensive Plan <br />requirements. Mr. Johnson briefly explained procedures for the Metropolitan Councils <br />final approval, including a 60 day final review. Mr. Johnson identified potential Met- <br />Council issues from Met-Council of extending sewer service, changing the flood plain <br />boundaries and status of the City's surface water management plan. Additional <br />information, from workshops, on unresolved issues will be forwarded to the Met-council. <br /> <br />Mr. Johnson had spoke with Dan Tourville about a mixed use concept in the downtown <br />area. A mixed use concept in the downtown area would allow the city freedom to shape <br />the downtown area through the zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Johnson stressed Met-Councils desire to have 3 units per acre, due to the MUSA <br />extension. Met-Council may push the issue, but they may accept Centerville's <br />Comprehensive Plan as submitted. Further, high density area's will be 12 units per acre, <br />
