<br />~ <br /> <br />Automatic Senses Meter Reading System <br />Mr. Ed Wiegert (Water Pro Representative) briefed the Council on the proposed Meter Reading <br />System and installation. Mr. Wiegert noted the City's current 325 accounts can be updated to <br />match the proposed system. The Meter Reading System has the capability to take readings <br />bimontWy, montWy and bill accordingly. Further, the billing software is included, however, the <br />"housing" to adopt the Read System to the City's billing software is not included. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Brenner to authorize Staff to purchase the Meter Reading System <br />as per Mr. March's recommendation. Motion seconded by Councilmember Helmbrecht. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />20th Avenue Watermain Interconnect/Sanitary Sewer Connection <br />Mr. David Nyberg (RR. Green Consulting Engineers) explained the proposed pathway of the <br />Watermain Interconnect and Sanitary Sewer. Mr. Nyberg suggested running the infrastructure <br />north on the proposed 21st Avenue and north halfway turn west to connect with 20th Avenue <br />(CSAR 54). Currently, the total project overhead is 35%, which is 100% assessable. Mr. March <br />stated Metropolitan Council's approval is not necessary to continue with this project, because if <br />the City ofLino Lakes denies the interconnect the project will not move forward. Mr. March <br />explained Lino Lakes and Anoka County need to see the proposed plans to evaluate the project. <br /> <br />Mr. March stated property owners of REEL Manufacturing and Carpenters Auto Body are <br />willing to be assessed. Mr. Gary Hugeback (Integrated Realty) stated Mr. Gerald Rehbein is <br />willing to pay fee for the Watermain Interconnect/Sanitary Sewer plans and specifications. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Brenner to set a Workshop/Special meeting on July 30, at 6:00 <br />p.m. to further discuss the 20th Avenue Watermain Interconnect/Sanitary Sewer. Motion <br />seconded by Councilmember Helmbrecht. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Residential Refuse Collection Contract <br />Mr. March reported the City received four refuse quotes from Ace Solid Waste, Walters, United <br />Waste and Waste Management. Further, the chosen contractor will be expected to begin the third <br />week in September. Currently, the City has an exclusive contract with one hauler for residential <br />and commercial. The City may look at licensing up to three haulers, having a separate contract <br />for commercial business. <br /> <br />MOTION by Councilmember Helmbrecht to table this issue and discuss the Refuse Contact <br />during the July 30, Workshop/Special Meeting. Motion seconded by Councilmember Brenner. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Fete des Lac Fireworks <br />Mr. Bill Bisek (Kelly's Komer) addressed the Council and reported the Centerville Lions voted <br />against funding fireworks at the Fete des Lac. Mr. Bisek requested the City pay half of the <br />$2,800 firework fee and the remaining $1,400 will be donated by surrounding business' or Kelly's <br /> <br />It <br /> <br />3 <br />
