<br />City ofCentcrville <br />Council Meeting Minute...;; <br />January 23,2008 <br /> <br />Council Memher Lakso reported that the response to the CERT Program has been very <br />good. She reported the training runs from March to May 2008. She encouraged residents <br />to contact her for more information. <br /> <br />h. Alexandra House <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso rcported she had attended the clccted official's open house held <br />recently at the Alexandra House. Council Member T ,akso felt that there was an increasc <br />in domestic abuse and requcsted that Council assign an individual to the Anoka County <br />Task Force that would assist in prevention and educating the public about domestic <br />abuse. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra requested that Council Mcmber Lakso back additional information to <br />Council for further consideration. <br /> <br />c. LMC Conferencc <br /> <br />CowlciI Member Lakso reported that she had attended thc recent LMC Conference, <br />ethics were the major topic of discussion, and that she would hc bring information to <br />COlillcil at their next meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee reported that the Police Commission has a new Chaiperson, Mr. <br />Dave Kelso from Circlc Pines; Council Member Lakso had made a great presentation on <br />the CERT program; and they approved sending Investigator Russ Blanck to the FBI <br />Academy. Council Member Lee also reported that the lillion contract was rejected and <br />mediation is to follow. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra reported that she gave an update at the Police Commission meeting on <br />mental health issues, Police Officer response, and the dangers involved. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee requcsted that Council consider rcvisiting Committee/Commission <br />appointments and appointing individuals under the age of 18 for City <br />Committees/Commissions because he has heen approached by individuals in this capacity <br />who would like to serve their community. <br /> <br />3. Police Report <br /> <br />Officer Aldridge reported on the following topics: <br /> <br />Frustration with procedures for handling individuals who are sutfering from mental <br />health issues. <br />Increased Traffic offenses and domestic calls over the past two months. <br />Promotion of Officer Chris Carlson to Investigator. <br /> <br />Pagc 6 of7 <br /> <br />-6- <br />
