<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of <br />the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />September 25, 1980 in the City Hall. Acting Mayor Savela <br />called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were L'Allier, <br />Laska and Murray, absent: Burque. Motion by ~aska, second <br />by L'Allier, to accept the minutes of the September lOth meeting, <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: Leon L'Allier cited several instances <br />where cars were speeding on Main Street and going through the <br />stop sign on 20th and Main without stopping. Police Chief was <br />to be made aware of problem. Messrs. Louis Thill and Ted <br />Gonsiror, residents on Mound Trail were in audience advising <br />council of water drainage problem on the 5 lots of LeRoux <br />Addition. Walt Williams was to look at problem and report <br />back to council on remedy. They also voiced problem with <br />utility trucks driving on their property and the need for a <br />street light situated somewhere on the street. <br /> <br />Cliff Holman, Director of Special Services for Centennial <br />School District #12 handed out Summer Recreation Report to <br />council and requested the council to consider contribution to <br />program for 1981. This will be taken up at the city's budget <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Police Chief Myhre brought council up to date on the first <br />six months expenditures for the Police Department and submitted <br />proposed figure for 1981 police contract with Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />Mr. Lowell Olson of Westward Construction advised council that <br />basement located on Lot 2, Block 2, Peterson's Old Homestead <br />Addition will be moved to comply with setback requirements <br />of Ordinance #10 and will then line up with existing homes on <br />block. Discussion was held on building permit application <br />for Lot 1, Block 1, Peterson's Old Homestead Addition where <br />several problems exist. Consensus of Council was to have Walt <br />Williams meet with Mr. Olson on site to discuss remedy for <br />drainage problem on the rear of lot. If Westward Construction <br />builds home with 65' front yard setback, home being 24' x 38', <br />the rear yard setback would be only 11'. Motion by L'Allier, <br />second by Murray to grant variance to urdinance ~10, II <br />Residential, (G) Rear Yard Requirements on Lot 1, Block 1, <br />Peterson's old Homestead Addition, motion carried. <br /> <br />Jim and Jeff Gardner of Gardner-Seim Construction appeared <br />before council with a "twin home" print which they would like <br />to build on several lots in Rehbein ~states. They were advised <br />to appear at next P & X meeting for their consideration before <br />action is taken by City Council on their proposal. <br /> <br />Motion by Laska, second by L'Allier for the Mayor and Clerk <br />to enter into Joint Cooperation Agreement between Anoka County <br />and City of Centerville to participate in the Community <br />Development Block Grant Program, motion carried. <br />
