<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />June 11, 1980 in the City Hall. Acting Mayor Burque called the <br />meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were L'Allier, Laska, <br />Savela, ~ngineer Williams and Attorney Hawkins. <br /> <br />Moti_on by Savela, second by L' Allier to accept the minutes of <br />the May 24th meeting, motion carried. <br /> <br />Several names were voiced for appointment of lV1ayor for the balance <br />of 1980; L'Allier, Frank Zimny, Gary Savela, Francis Durque and <br />Dan Skoog. Motion by L'Allier to appoint Dan Skoog as Mayor <br />for the balance of 1980, motion died for lack of second. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lynda Hentges presented views on the petition submitted <br />previously concerning the fire arms ordinance. Several members <br />of the audience also voiced their opinions. Motion by Laska, <br />second by L'Allier not to change or amend Ordinance #5, FIR~ ARMS <br />ORDINANC~, Savela abstaining, motion carried. <br /> <br />No discussion on parking lot location or report from committee on <br />garage improvement. <br /> <br />Clerk advised Council Gerald Rehbein has not come into the office <br />with bond required on the grading permit he requested. Council <br />consensus to call building inspector to red tag project until bond <br />has been acquired by City. <br /> <br />Messrs. Dan Skoog and Lew Hendricks' attorney presented case on <br />why they should not have to move their fences off the city right <br />of way onto their property line. Motion by Savela, second by <br />L'Allier to withdraw letters to Messrs. ~koog and Hendricks of <br />May 15, 1980 in order for P & Z to review changes in the city's <br />ordinance and make recommendation to the council on this matter, <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />Acting lY1ayor Burque reported on his meeting wi th the St. Paul <br />Water Department concerning proposed park to be maintained by <br />Berg home on Main Street. <br /> <br />Motion by Savela, second by Laska to purchase plastic sprayer <br />for city use, motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion held on the work that our CiTA employee can do during <br />the summer. <br /> <br />Two easements that are required in the Center Oaks plat were <br />discussed. Motion by L'Allier, second by Laska to approve <br />easements on the following lots: Lot 1, Block 3 and Lot 19, <br />Block 2 and the setback requirement will be 45' instead of )0' , <br />motion carried. Clerk will make note of setback requirements <br />on the plat. <br /> <br />Motion by L'Allier, second by Laska to issue ).2 Beer permit to <br />the St, Genevieve's Church for their annual picnic on Sunday, <br />August 17, 1980, motion carried. Clerk is to inform Msgr. Lally <br />that cars should not be parked in front of the City Hall blocking <br />the apron for the fire trucks. <br />
