Post high school <br />training, vocational school or civil engineering technology program, construction <br />and/or related field. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, drawings, <br />specifications, plans and maps. Ability to provide guidance, assistance, and <br />interpretation of construction services to others. Ability to respond to common <br />inquiries or complaints from customers, department staff, City Council, members <br />of the business community and other agencies and organizations. Ability to write <br />correspondence. <br />. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole <br />numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to work with formulas in the <br />calculation of area, volume and percentages. Ability to work with metric <br />measures, specifically the ability to convert from metric to standard <br />measurements. <br />.
