The City's Inventory total as of January 2008 Is <br />1,352 units. In addition to the total amount of units It Is Important to understand housing <br />tenure and amount of owner and rental occupancy. Data from the 2000 Census finds <br />thet the community has a 66.2% owner-occupied and 33.8% rental occupied housing <br />mix. <br /> <br />Each new household added to a city requires an additional housing unit and results In <br />Increasing residential land uses. Centervllle presently has a faster growth rate than the <br />county, Increasing by approximately 155 households per year between 1990 and 2005. <br />The city added 558 households in the 1990s. The Met Council forecast shows that <br />Centervllle will be edding an additional 555 households betwaen 2005 and 2030. Since <br />the City has determined that It Is Important to exceed a population of 5,000, the City has <br />adopted land use policies that will Increase the population after full bulld-out. The <br />forecasts for household and population figures based on these new land uses are shown <br />In Table 22 below. The ratio of persons per household In Centervllle Is expected to <br />decline by 2030 due to an aging population and the larger general demographic trend of <br /> <br />64 <br />
