<br />CIty ofCentenllle <br />PIsrmlng ami Zoning Commlsslm <br />Febnmr)' 12, 2008 <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Planning and Zoning Commission to revise Section 154.110(8) to <br />state that snow-stop fi:nces are allowed by permit only and shall be allowed only in the R-l <br />District. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that Section 154.11 O(E) related to swimming pool fencing bas <br />been revised to state that no permanent private swimming pool with a water depth exc-ling 24 <br />inches may be allowed unless enclosed by a permanent wall or funce not less than fom feet in <br />height with self-closing door and self-closing latch. He stated that the term "permanent" bas <br />been defined to mean if it bas a water supply or drain connection or if it bas a filter or <br />chlorination system attached; however, there are swimming pools on the market that are not <br />permanent but that have a filter system. He questioned whether the reference to filter or <br />chlorination system should be deleted. <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard stated that the original reason behind this was safety. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson questioned whether the City bas the capacity to enforce this and <br />added that permanent swimming pools have a building permit associated with them. <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard questioned whether decorative fencing is allowed in <br />commercialf'mdustrial zoning districts as refi:renced in Section 154.110(F). <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Planning and Zoning Commission to allow decorative fencing as <br />defined in Section 154.110(A)(3) in commerciaVindustrial zoning districts. <br /> <br />m DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />IV. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> <br />1. January 8. 2008 Plannina and Zonina MPP.tina Minutes <br /> <br />Commissioner Love requested that the minutes be amended to state that the guard rail along <br />Centerville Road shall be placed both north and south of Center Street for a dlstalK'.e of <br />approximately 400 feet, and not just to the south of Center Street. <br /> <br />Chair Hanson stated that it was the intent of the planning and Zoning Commi"9ion to request <br />installation of the guard rail along both the north and south side. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that he will verifY the guard rail p1acement along both the north <br />and south side. <br /> <br />Motion bv CommiA~oner Love. seconded bv Commimoner Parneei. to Bnnrove the <br />Minutes of Jannal'V 8.
