<br /> <br />tervi{{e <br /> <br />'EstaJj{i.4u,{ 1857 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />18SD~ainStreet, CmteJVl-ni, :M:N550J8 <br />651--129-3232 or <T~6.51-429-8629 <br /> <br />Res. #08-098' 9 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING GUIDELINES FOR APPOINTMENT OF <br />YOUTH MEMBERS TO COMMITfEES OR COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has the duty of appointing members to serve on City <br />Committee(s) and Commission(s), and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, of the Council has had expressions of interest from minor persons to serve <br />on Committee(s) and Commissions. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />CENTERVILLE, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />In general, all persons who wish to serve on Committees of the City shall be at least 18 <br />years of age. The Council may allow minors at least 15 years or older who are residents <br />of the City to serve as a member of a City Committee with the following restrictions. <br /> <br />1) Minor persons may serve as a regular voting member of a committee. No <br />minor person shall serve as the Chairperson of a Committee. <br />2) The membership of a Committee is limited to two minor persons. <br />3) Minor persons may only serve on the Parks & Recreation Committee. <br />4) Minor persons as subject to the same rules, regulations and laws as any <br />committee member. All meetings shall be conducted in accordance with <br />Open Meeting laws, Quorum Requirements, Rules of Decorum and other <br />applicable requirements. <br />5) This policy shall be reviewed by the Council no later than 12131/2009 to <br />consider possible revision. <br />6) Minor persons shall have a signed parental/guardian participation consent <br />form on file with the City. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council this 27th day of February, 2008. <br />'-"'fh r7 <br />~-tJ~ J <br />'- Attest'-'~A.J ~ MaryCapr yor <br />Teresa Bender, City Clerk <br />
