<br />Centerville 2008 Comprehensive Plan Update <br />3-27-2008 <br /> <br />Open House Feedback Worksheet <br /> <br />What is Comprehensive Planning? <br /> <br />A city's comprehensive land use plan provides a vision and guide for how the <br />community will continue to grow and redevelop into the future. It serves as the legal <br />foundation for rules and regulations adopted by the community, including the zoning <br />ordinance and subdivision regulations. It also influences expenditures and revenues of <br />the city government. The Metropolitan Land Planning Act, a Minnesota state law since <br />1976, requires local governments in the seven-county Twin Cities area to develop land <br />use plans for their communities. The plan is updated every ten years to reflect changing <br />conditions. For this update, the Metropolitan Council has provided grant funding to the <br />City of Centerville, which is covering a majority of the cost of the update. <br /> <br />We want your input! <br /> <br />The City Council and the Planning Commission have reviewed Centerville's existing <br />Comprehensive Plan, listened to feedback from the public and developed a preferred <br />plan that reflect changes in the city and goals of the community.
