Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the centerville city
Council held their regular meeting on September 26, 1990 at City
Hall. Mayor Haberman calle<i the meeting to order at 7: 00 p. m.
Present: Buckbee, Pelton, Burgstahler, NeUlllann

Motion by Burgstahler, second by Pelton to approve the september
1.2, 1990 city council meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously.

APPEARANCES

Ann Wallerstedt from the Anoka County Mediation Services appeared
before the city Council to make a presentation regarding the
mediation services available. She noted that there are
approximately 25 volunteer mediators and 3 to 4 part time
employees. Funding is received through the County, the cities and
some private associations/organizations. Mediation services are
provided free to the pUblic and municipalities.

OLD BUSINESS

Hardwood Ponds I Sidewalk
The following audience members asked questions and expressed
concerns regarding the installation of the sidewalk in the Hardwood
Pond Estates I Development.
-Robert Wright, 7137 Brian Drive
-Dave Perkins, 7131 Brian Drive
-Phillip Belden, 7119 Brian Drive
-Beverly Hughes, 1793 Center Street
-Dan Miller, 7111 Brian Drive
-Michele Chapeau, 7154 Shad Avenue

written concerns were also submitted by Gregory & Lisa Kieselhorst
of 7155 Brian Drive and Bob Wright, 7137 Brian Drive.

In the discussion it was suggested that the sidewalk be moved to
approximately 4 feet off the curb. The city Council inquired as
to the City Engineer'S opinion of moving the sidewalk closer to the
curb.

John Stewart, City Engineer, advised that his only concern would
be snow plowing as the snow from the streets could pile onto the
sidewalk. He noted, however, if the residents found the snow to
be less of an intrusion than the sidewalk being closer to the
property lines, this may be a good trade off.

Gerald Rehbein, developer for the Hardwood Pond Estates I
Development, was also present.

Motion by Pelton, second by Buckbee to amend the centerville Street
scape Standard:
-to reflect a four foot grass boulevard to be placed directly
off the curb which will then abut a five foot sidewalk~
-boulevard trees shall be placed approximately four feet
behind the sidewalk;
