The city Council inquired as
to the City Engineer'S opinion of moving the sidewalk closer to the
curb.

John Stewart, City Engineer, advised that his only concern would
be snow plowing as the snow from the streets could pile onto the
sidewalk. He noted, however, if the residents found the snow to
be less of an intrusion than the sidewalk being closer to the
property lines, this may be a good trade off.

Gerald Rehbein, developer for the Hardwood Pond Estates I
Development, was also present.

Motion by Pelton, second by Buckbee to amend the centerville Street
scape Standard:
-to reflect a four foot grass boulevard to be placed directly
off the curb which will then abut a five foot sidewalk~
-boulevard trees shall be placed approximately four feet
behind the sidewalk;
