Mark Statz reviewed the status of work in Hidden Springs Park. He indicated that he is
waiting for some recommendations from Mr. Greg Thompson of the Association of
Metro Watershed Districts, on what additional steps are needed to stabilize the shoreline.
As soon as that information is received, Bonestroo will complete the shoreline work. Veit
Company should be returning soon to finish the other items remaining.

The Administrator reviewed locations where the City has had complaints of
encroachments in the street right of way. The issues ranged from shrubs planted around
transformer boxes to landscape rocks and fences in the right of way. City Attorney
Glaser indicated that the Council can decide to what level they wish to enforce the city
code and that selective enforcement is often necessary due to limited resources. The
Council will put this matter on a work session in the near future. Council Member
Broussard-Vickers expressed the desire to have a separate work session on this matter to
allow an appropriate amount of time to be allocated to the issue.

Council Member Lakso reviewed the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
program. Currently approximately 30 residents are attending CERT training. The purpose
is to provide training to volunteers making them more prepared to help in community
emergencies. Council Member Lakso asked the Council to consider the option of
providing some ongoing funding in the budget to allow CERT to be sustained into the
future. She also encouraged those present to consider getting involved in CERT.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:05 p.m.

Dallas Larson
City Administrator
