<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 23, 2008 <br /> <br />door of all businesses as this would assist the officers at night. Sergeant Aldridge added <br />that officers do not always know what business it is if they find an open door. He <br />reported that Officer Russ Blank is currently attending the FBI Academy. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Sergeant Aldridge reported the Police Department has moved into the Centerville <br />substation. He reported on the speeding along Peterson Trail and indicated that since <br />officers were posted there, no-one has been speeding. He reported an attempted burglary <br />at the liquor store resulted in the suspects not getting into the building and vandalism at <br />the Skate Park that included the theft of equipment. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra reported she went on a ride along with Officer Gates. <br /> <br />4. Radio Service <br /> <br />Mayor Capra expressed concern about the radio service in the new building. <br /> <br />5. Community-Orientated Policina <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee reported on a meeting held to talk about community-oriented <br />policing and the steps taken to implement this. He stated that it works to mitigate crime <br />and emphasized the importance of citizen involvement. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Park Clean-Uo <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee gave a special thanks to the members of the Recreation Committee, <br />who spent a couple hours on Saturday morning to get through all the parks. He added <br />that the Boy Scouts cleaned Lamont Park, and it was spotless. <br /> <br />7. Garaae Sale and Clean-Up <br /> <br />Mayor Capra announced that the Centerville City Garage Sale and Clean-Up would occur <br />on May 9-10. <br /> <br />8. Temporary Summer Help/Public Works <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson mentioned that staff would like to find an adult to fill in the <br />gaps as a summer helper. He indicated staff had someone in mind that has some <br />construction experience and could do this on an as-needed basis.
