City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 27, 2008 <br />City Administrator Larson presented the information regarding condemnation of property <br />to acquire right of way property. He stated Sheehy is willing to settle for $201,500. <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to Approve <br />Resolution 08-010, a Resolution Approving Settlement in Condemnation Litigation <br />with Sheehy Construction in the amount of $201,500. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />7. Vacant Property Procedures <br />Councilmember Paar commented on the issue of foreclosures in the community. He <br />explained that the mortgage companies are responsible for maintenance of the property <br />until it is sold. He stated this is not being done. He questioned whether there is a <br />procedure the City could follow to escrow against the property to ensure maintenance of <br />the property is accomplished. <br />City Administrator Larson replied notices are sent to the mortgage companies outlining <br />their responsibilities. He stated lawns and sidewalks could be maintained by the City. <br />Discussion ensued. <br />Council tasked City Administrator Larson to discuss the health concern issue with City <br />Attorney Glaser. <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br />1. City Administrator Larson <br />City Administrator Larson distributed the draft Comprehensive Plan to Council for review. <br />He stated the next step in the process is an open house at St. Genevieve's on March 27, <br />2008. He announced that the Metropolitan Council gave preliminary approval on the <br />adjustment on the population. <br />2. 2009 Street Project Update <br />City Engineer Statz provided a summary of the main issues voiced at the February 21, <br />2008 public open house and potential steps the Council could take to continue working <br />with the public to reach a consensus on the appropriate scope for the proposed 2009 Street <br />Project. <br />Discussion ensued. <br />Consensus reached by Council that City Engineer Statz present this information to Council <br />at the next Council Work Session. <br />3 .
