CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Apri19, 2008 <br />6:30 p.m. <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting on Apri19, 2008, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Mary Capra <br />Council Member Tom Lee <br />Council Member Jeff Paar <br />Council Member Michelle Lakso ~ 0 <br />Council Member Linda Broussard-Vickers ~~ <br />0 ~ ~ <br />ABSENT: None <br />STAFF: City Administrator Dallas Larson <br />City Attorney Kurt Glaser <br />City Engineer Mark Statz <br />L CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Capra called the Apri19, 2008, City Council meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Capra stated that the first item on the agenda is the Anoka County Board of <br />Appeal and Equalization Hearing. She welcomed all those in attendance and introduced <br />Randy DeJong, Crystal Huss and John Leone from the Anoka County Assessor's Office. <br />Randy DeJong explained the 2008 assessment is a reflection of the current market and the <br />notices are for the period October 1, 2006 through October 1, 2007. He stated that each <br />year, the County is required to perform on-site assessments on 20% of the parcels in the <br />County. He explained that the State requires the County to disqualify those properties <br />currently in foreclosure, and overall residential market values showed a slight increase of <br />1.2%. He noted the State requires values to be between 90-105% of their value and this <br />year, the County is at 94.26% overall. <br />Mayor Capra stated that during the Board of Appeal and Equalization hearing, the <br />Council will be in session but will not be conducting any business. She stated if the <br />representatives from the County are unable to meet with each resident this evening, the <br />Board of Appeal and Equalization hearing will be reconvened on another date. <br />Mayor Capra recessed the regular City Council meeting in order to convene the Board of <br />Appeal and Equalization hearing at 6:33 p.m. <br />
