<br />City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />May 28, 2008 <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee stated that he thought it would be done in the original bid, and that it <br />would wrap all the way around. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Palzar replied that because of the size of the play structure, it had <br />to be moved, so the plans were adjusted. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked whether the part of the trail shown on the screen would be fixed. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Palzar replied that in addition to the new section of trail, they can <br />put a %" overlay on that area, with the cost not exceeding $3,400. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee stated that the Change Order needed to be approved to include <br />adding that overlay. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee inquired whether there was storm damage to the newly constructed <br />structure or the pump house. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Palzar reported that there was damage to all the park structures <br /> <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Res. #08-014 - Appointing a Fire Chief for Centennial Fire District <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported that the Fire Steering Committee's vote was <br />unanimous to approve Jerry Streich as the new Fire Chief. He stated that Mr. Streich <br />more than met the criteria of what they are looking for and recommended that it be <br />approved. He added that Mr. Streich has 20 years of experience, has a lot of credentials <br />and he is very eager to start. City Administrator Larson stated that they are looking <br />forward to Mr. Streich's start date of August 1. City Administrator Larson added that <br />there would be some overlap time for Chief Milo Bennett. <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar recommended that the City Council put their faith in Jerry Streich. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Paar. seconded bv Council Member Lee. to aDDrove <br />Res. #08-014 authorizine: the hire of Jerry Streich as the new Fire Chief for the <br />Centennial Fire District. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTSIUPDATES <br /> <br />1. City Administrator. Mr. Dallas Larson <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson did a quick summary on the map showing what he understood <br />was the consensus of the City Council of what would be included in the road project. He <br />stated that this would be on the next City Council agenda. The total cost of the project is <br />would be $4.5 million, including $1.6 million of assessments. <br /> <br />Page 6 of 10 <br />
