<br />/ <br /> <br />page five <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 14, 1987 <br /> <br />Recreation Committee recommendation the sweeper will be sent to <br />916 Vocational Technical School for an estimate on the cost to <br />repair the sweeper for use for the ice on the hockey rink, motion <br />carried unanimously_ <br /> <br />Clerk will check to see who has paid the $500.00 Summer <br />Recreation in the past. The Park and Recreation Committee is <br />contesting that it is not their responsibility. <br /> <br />Council member Fritchie updated the Council on the Senior <br />Transportation program. Contract has been approved by the City <br />Attorney. There appears to be one rider in Centerville at this <br />time. The program will be begin the first Wednesday in November. <br />Lexington will be the lead City for this program. The program <br />requires one staff member and one community member to be <br />appointed to the executive staff board. Council will decide at <br />October 28, 1987 meeting who will be on the board. <br /> <br />Discussion of CORONA. They meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of <br />each month. Clerk will attempt to contact Dan Tourville, <br />Planning and Zoning Commission member to see if he is interested, <br />alternates will also be needed. <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber noted that Lake Sanitation will be <br />starting a recycling program and recommends that the newspaper <br />representatives present contact Lake Sanitation to get the <br />starting dates. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Laska to recommend to the cities of <br />Circle Pines and Lino Lakes that a monetary stipend be paid to <br />Buster LaTuff in 1987 out of city funds; that a monetary stipend <br />be paid to future Chairpersons of the Fire Commission out of the <br />Fire Department budget, beginning in 1988, motion carried <br />unanimously_ <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Wilharber to table looking into a <br />new attorney until further notice, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to meet will the City <br />Attorney in a closed meeting on October 28, 1987, 6:30 p.m. at <br />City Hall, to discuss the pending road reconstruction litigation, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Carol to allow the Lu and Walter <br />Prachar to continue their request for a variance to split the <br />land under the Cellular I tower and road from their current <br />properties in May when they return from Florida, without starting <br />over with the Planning and Zoning Commission, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
